Sculpt the stumps

Since the beginning of winter, we have seen our tailors, well wrapped up, surveying the plots, bending over each vine stock, to sculpt the stumps with a masterful hand. Indeed, the vine stock is the vine stock.

Sculpting the stumps is a meticulous technique that limits the growth of the vine to regulate the production of grapes in quantity but also in quality.

With his pruning shears, Damien is pruning the vine in “cordon de Royat” which guides the growth of the vine stock. The “cordon de Royat” is a type of short pruning used in certain vineyards. He carefully chooses the woods that will bear the next harvest. Quite an art to master!

It’s a race against time, you have to finish pruning before the buds arrive in the spring.
